Irakli Garibashvili says that Nika Melia’s statement about resigning from the chairmanship of the United National Movement in case of victory was preventive.

“According to my information, it has already been decided that [Mikheil] Saakashvili will remove Nika Melia from the post of party chairman, and he [Nika Melia] has made a preventive statement”, - added Irakli Garibashvili.

Nika Melia, the chairman of the United National Movement, said that if he wins the local elections and becomes the mayor of Tbilisi, he will leave the party.
