Only 1.05% of died people were vaccinated. Such a statement made today the Head of the National Center for Disease Control.

“From March 15, until September 30, a total of 5 469 people in the country, unfortunately, died as a result of COVID-19. In this case, 98.95% were unvaccinated, and 1.05% were vaccinated.

In the age group of 18-59 years, the protection against fully vaccinated mortality is 99.37%, and in the age group over 60 - 97.8%. These are the total numbers for the four vaccines that were administered in Georgia.

As for vaccination from the age of 12, a decision of the Scientific Committee has been prepared for the Immunization Council. Previously, if we only had vaccinations for children from 12 to 15 years with medical indications, today there is talk, and a proposal is being considered to open vaccinations for all children of this age with the consent and desire of the parents”, - said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
