Government of Poland donates 468 000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Georgia. According to the Ministry of Health, the first part of the donation has already been delivered to Tbilisi.

“I am glad that Poland was able to help Georgia during this difficult period. I hope the population will actively use these vaccines and finally with the help of vaccination we will end the current fifth wave and the pandemic. If necessary, Poland will help Georgia again”, - said Mariusz Maszkiewicz, Polish Ambassador to Georgia.

Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia, Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili and Head of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health (NCCD) Amiran Gamkrelidze attended the cargo handling event.

According to the Georgian Health Ministry, the jabs will be used for the ongoing two-dose immunization program and as a booster shot. Poland’s donation will arrive in five shipments next week.
