Parliament approved the bill in the 3rd reading that will tighten regulations on gambling and prize games.

MPs passed the planned amendments to the Law on Organizing Lotteries, Games of Change and Other Prize Games by a vote of 82 to 1.

Under the project, the minimum age for gambling will be increased to 25 years. Public officials and socially vulnerable people will be banned from gambling - according to the ruling team, the ban will apply to 1 million citizens.

According to the project, the concept of a person addicted to games is introduced in the law. The rules and deadlines for entering data in the list of dependents were defined. A person will be able to request the inclusion of data in the list of dependents on the basis of his / her own application. Also, his/her family member will be entitled to request the registry entry of the person’s data in the court.

The new regulations will take effect on March 1, 2022.
