12 tents have been set up near the United National Movement headquarters, and about 200 people are on hunger strike.

The main demand of hunger strikers is the release of Mikheil Saakashvili. Among the hunger strikers are both members of the UNM and civil activists.

“It will be necessary to add tents, because the number of hunger strikers is increasing every day, which means that the citizens of Georgia are well aware of this fight, they know that only selfless struggle will achieve results. This result will definitely be a victory for our citizens”, - said one of the activists.

The decision to start a mass hunger strike was announced on December 21. According to Nika Melia, the Chairman of the UNM, the hunger strike will not end until the former president is released.
