As part of his visit to the United Kingdom, Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met with the representatives of the British Research Center - The Royal United Services Institute.
Shalva Papuashvili focused on the gross facts of human rights violations in the occupied territories of Georgia.
It was noted that Georgian citizens living in the occupied territories are prohibited from receiving education in their mother tongue, and kidnappings and illegal deprivation of liberty have been reported.
The Speaker also expanded on Russia’s aggressive policy towards Ukraine, the grave security environment in the wider region, and the resolution in support of Ukraine adopted by the Georgian Parliament.
At the meeting, Sh. Papuashvili stressed the importance of further rapprochement between Georgia and Ukraine with NATO.
