The Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Georgia Heidi Grau.

The meeting reviewed the long-term close cooperation between Georgia and Switzerland in various fields.

The fact that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Switzerland was underlined.

Shalva Papuashvili expressed his gratitude for the strong support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and for the fulfillment of Switzerland’s mediation mandate in Georgian-Russian relations since 2009.

The sides also discussed Russian aggression against Ukraine and the security environment in the region.

The Ambassador expressed her desire to be involved in and support the process of strengthening the Parliament of Georgia.
