During his visit to Azerbaijan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gaparova.

At the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the close partnership between the two countries and stressed the great role of the parliamentary dimension in further strengthening bilateral relations. In this regard, the sides positively assessed the visit of the Milli Majlis Speaker to Georgia and expressed the hope that the meetings in Tbilisi will further strengthen the ties between the two countries, including the parliamentary dimension.

The conversation focused on the successful cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan at the level of parliamentary committees.

Discussions also focused on regional security issues. The sides reaffirmed mutual support for the territorial integrity of the two countries. At the meeting, the sides reaffirmed the commitment of their parliaments to make their significant contribution to deepening ties between the two countries in various fields.
