Derek Chollet, Counselor of the US Department of State, meets with the representatives of non-governmental organizations.

According to Nika Simonishvili, Chairman of the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association, they discussed several important issues, including the justice system, the so-called clan in the judiciary, arrest of Nika Gvaramia and the Russian influence coming from various groups in the country.

Derek Chollet arrived in Georgia yesterday. According to the US Embassy in Georgia, during his official visit he will hold meetings with representatives of the Georgian Government, members of opposition parties and civil society leaders.
