The Parliament of Georgia observed a one-minute silence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Chairman of the legislature called The Queen’s death “a great loss not only for the British people but also for the world community and Georgia”.
“I am sure that her name and heritage will remain in the memory of history and future generations for a long time. Elizabeth II had been a “friend and supporter of freedom-loving” nations including Georgia, as well as of “our culture and people”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, died on 8 September at Balmoral, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
