The official visit of Georgian to Romania has started. The welcoming ceremony of Salome Zourabichvili was held in Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest.

The President was met at the airport by: the Georgian Ambassador to Romania, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Romanian Ambassador to Georgia.

“This visit has both symbolic and practical importance. The visit is significant as the Presidents are signing a document – “A joint declaration on the establishment of strategic relations between Georgia and Romania”. Romania is an unwavering supporter of Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations”, - said Nikoloz Nikolozishvili, Ambassador of Georgia to Romania.

Salome Zourabichvili will hold a meeting with her Romanian counterpart, as well as the Prime Minister and the Chairmen of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Romanian Parliament. She will also visit the port city of Costanza.
