We are directly observing the campaign being carried out by the radical opposition, a campaign called: “Don’t give us candidate status”. Such a comment made the Speaker of Parliament, while evaluating the statement made by several oppositionists that we will not be given candidate status.
“Their actions and their words prove that this is an ordinary large-scale campaign to prevent Georgia from receiving candidate status. The logic is very simple and sad at the same time, because it shows how devoid of any patriotism the radical opposition is.
The logic is as follows - giving the country candidate status will strengthen the Government, and everything that strengthens the Georgian Government, from their point of view, is bad, because the only thing they want is to weaken the Government, to weaken the Government elected by people, and somehow, through unrest, to regain absolute power, which they had years ago and which they miss so much”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
