Mikheil Saakashvili’s trial is expected to be postponed today

The trial of Mikheil Saakashvili on the case of embezzlement of budget funds is expected to be postponed today.

The reason is the health condition of the former president.

Saakashvili was charged in 2014 with embezzlement of state property. According to the accusation, from May 1, 2009, to February 25, 2013, 9 024 367.34 GEL belonging to the state budget was misappropriated for Mikheil Saakashvili’s personal purposes.
