The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament met with the Minister of State at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, Tobias Lindner. Shalva Papuashvili thanked the German side for its support for European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the democratic development of Georgia.
He emphasized that Germany has been Georgia’s largest bilateral donor for years, which has yielded numerous positive results for the Georgian people. The parties talked about the Russian war in Ukraine and its grave consequences.
Shalva Papuashvili spoke to the Minister of State about the implementation of 12 recommendations of the European Union and noted that Georgia will spare no effort to obtain the candidate status. Tobias Lindner wished Georgia success in the implementation of reforms and expressed Germany’s commitment to supporting Georgia in this process.
The Georgian parliamentary delegation under the leadership of the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, is holding bilateral meetings with high-level political officials in the capital of Germany within the framework of the official visit.
Along with the Speaker, the delegation is composed of MPs: Nikoloz Samkharadze, Anri Okhanashvili, Levan Kobiashvili, Nino Iobashvili, Irakli Shatakishvili and Khatuna Samnidze.
