The Chairperson of the Republican Party, Khatuna Samnidze, said that Germany “stood by Georgia and supported it in receiving the European Union membership candidate status”.

In her comment over the visit of a Georgian Parliamentary delegation to Germany, she noted the fulfilment of all European Union recommendations for the status made it “necessary that the Government and the opposition work together”.

“Despite the fact that we openly talk about problems in the country, at all meetings there was a positive attitude that Germany stands by our country, supports the country to get the status of a candidate.

We must do everything to fulfil the commitment in good faith, so that the help promised to us by our partner countries is possible from their side”, - said Khatuna Samnidze.
