Complete healing of Mikheil Saakashvili is impossible under the existing conditions, because he cannot relieve the stress - Georgi Grigolia

The complete healing of Mikheil Saakashvili is impossible under the current conditions, because he cannot relieve stress in any way that caused his current condition. Such a statement made today Giorgi Grigolia, a member of the Consilium created under the auspices of the Public Defender, in the interview to “Palitranews”, while talking about the health condition of the former president.

As he added, the “Vivamedi” clinic is ready for emergency intensive therapy and resuscitation measures in case of worsening of Mikheil Saakashvili’s health condition, although it is impossible to cure him completely here.

“At the moment he has cachexia. Cachexia is a wasting syndrome that leads to loss of skeletal muscle and fat. His condition has reached such a level that it can get complicated at any time. First of all, cachexia is sometimes complicated by bleeding, stroke, heart attack, whatever weak point the body has. It gets complicated, and in this case, urgent intensive therapy, resuscitation measures are needed, for which the clinic, of course, is ready, like all multidisciplinary clinics.

As for his healing. This is a more difficult issue. We also said in the previous conclusion that since it is impossible to cure him under our conditions, we recommended that it would be better to postpone [the verdict] for some time or to transfer him somewhere. He should stay away from here for some time until he is completely cured. This is our opinion, but, of course, the state makes the decision”, - explained a member of the Consilium.

According to Giorgi Grigolia, it is not necessary to bring foreign doctors to treat Mikheil Saakashvili.

“For example, I don’t think that there are some innovative methods and it is not necessary to bring foreign doctors. There is no need for surgery here. If there is any innovative method of treatment, today everything is known to everyone, so there is no need to bring them here [to Georgia]”, - concluded Grigolia.
