Irma Khetsuriani becomes European champion

Georgian wheelchair fencer Irma Khetsuriani became European champion in the foil B category at the 2022 IWAS Wheelchair Fencing European Championships in Warsaw.

She claimed the gold medal after winning the final against Alessia Biagini [Italy] with a score of 15-3. Georgian fencer also defeated Olga Yesina [Ukraine] in the semifinals with a 15-2 score.

Another Georgian wheelchair fencer, competing in the same tournament, Nina Tibilashvili claimed a bronze medal in the foil A category, defeating Amarilla Veres [Hungary] with a score of 15 - 3.
