We have entered the culminating phase, when the judge must either make a decision in favor of saving Mikheil Saakashvili’s life, or he must be morally able to issue a death sentence on the instructions of the Government. Such a statemebt made today the Chairman of the United National Movement.

“The main concern for us is to transfer Mikheil Saakashvili to a suitable medical facility abroad, which is still unresolved. I think that in recent days we have heard many comments that the treatment resources are running out and it is impossible to create any kind of positive dynamics.

Therefore, the solution remains in the transfer of Mikheil Saakashvili abroad as soon as possible. We have entered the culminating phase, when the judge must either make a decision in favor of saving Mikheil Saakashvili’s life, or he must morally be able to issue a death sentence on the instructions of the Government. All the efforts of the UNM will be directed towards these court processes.

The Government should be well aware that many people will not put up with the death sentence. The issue does not concern the third president of the country or Mikheil Saakashvili, as the founder of the UNM, the issue concerns the fact that they are fighting against a human being. Concrete steps are being taken to destroy his life, which the society will stand against”, - said Nika Melia.
