Mikheil Saakashvili goes on hunger strike. The former president made this decision after today’s court hearing.

His lawyer, Shalva Khachapuridze, recently left Vivamedi Clinic and voiced Saakashvili’s position to journalists.

“Today, I was refused the most elementary thing - the opportunity to attend my own trial. That’s why I’m starting a hunger strike. I am aware of all the risks, but I will starve until I have solid guarantees to attend my own trial, even online”, - reads the letter of Mikheil Saakashvili.
