In two hours, the consultations on the candidate for Public Defender will resume in the Parliament. The opposition believes that the compromise should come from the Government.
“Our position is firm - Georgia should have an independent Ombudsman. The professional standards of our candidates were confirmed by the commission that was created by the majority of Georgian Dream”, - says Khatia Dekanoidze, the Chairperson of the “United National Movement - Strength is in Unity” parliamentary faction.
“We need a Public Defender who will protect people, and whose biography, competence, ability to fight and qualifications will ensure the implementation of the recommendations of the European Union”, - added Ana Natsvlishvili, a member of “Lelo”.
