Member of Parliament from the United National Movement, Ana Tsitlidze, has stopped her hunger strike – she was taken to the clinic for treatment.
MP from the opposition party has been on hunger strike for the 12 days. She was protesting the Government’s refusal to send the imprisoned Mikheil Saakashvili abroad for medical treatment.
In her recent Facebook post, Tsitlidze wrote that she saw a clear risk of her friends joining her and going on hunger strike as well.
“I had no right to put my friends’ health at risk. During these days, I had meetings with government representatives, I communicated with international partners, I had the opportunity to meet the President, talk with her, I want to thank her for this opportunity.
My main point was and is one thing: we should build more bridges and not the other way around, hatred is not what will lead this country to the European future”, - added the MP.
