Another trial of Mikheil Saakashvili to be held today

Another trial regarding the postponement of the sentence or release from the sentence for Mikheil Saakashvili to be held today, February 6.

The session is scheduled in the Tbilisi City Court.

At today’s session, the parties will deliver their final speech, after which the judge must make a decision.

“We believe there is no cause for the judge to rule against Saakashvili. I’d like to emphasize that not just Saakashvili’s fate, but also the fate of Georgia, is being decided here. If a favorable verdict is obtained, hi will depart from Georgia and travel abroad for treatment in half an hour. If a decision is made against Saakashvili, we will follow the plan that will be disclosed after the ruling”, - said Shalva Khachapuridze, former president’s lawyer.
