We look forward to Georgia’s progress on the path to obtaining the EU candidate status, the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić-Radman, said at the press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
“I want to thank you for a very good welcome in Georgia. I am glad to be the first Foreign Minister of Croatia to visit Georgia. This is a historic and very successful visit. We had a very frank exchange of views on some important issues. My visit coincides with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries.
Today, we both expressed our firm intention to continue strengthening political dialogue at all levels and to deepen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, tourism and culture.
For this purpose, today we signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of diplomatic trainings.
Later today, together with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili, I will sign the economic cooperation agreement. Our countries are interested in promoting cooperation in the field of tourism, as they are equally proud of their beautiful nature and cultural heritage.
Today I expressed Croatia’s full support for Georgia’s European choice. We look forward to Georgia’s progress on the path to obtaining the EU candidate status, and we are ready to provide assistance on this path with our knowledge and experience. You can count on us.
We know from our experience that this is a long road. We welcome your reform process and commitment to this process. I also express Croatia’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, within its internationally recognized borders, and we support the peaceful resolution of the conflict”, - said the Croatian Foreign Minister.
