Official visit of the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Spain - Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gomez to Georgia has been completed.

Within the framework of the visit Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gomez and members of the Spanish delegation held meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri.

The parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in law enforcement sphere and set the perspectives of future collaboration.

Within the framework of the meeting, the MIA of the two countries signed a protocol between Georgia and Spain on the implementation of the “Agreement between the EU and Georgia on the readmission of persons residing without authorization”. The parties have also discussed the issue of signing agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses.

Within the framework of the visit the Minister of Interior of Spain along with the delegation visited Service Agency where guests got familiarized with the specifics of the work of the Service Agency on the spot, the categories and the procedure for issuing Georgian driving licenses, as well as the services the Agency offers to the citizens.
