I am disappointed with the position of the President, who somewhat romanticized the violence - Shalva Papuashvili

I am disappointed with the position of the President, who somewhat romanticized the violence when she posted one of the videos and described it as teenagers dancing in the background of sirens, stated the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.

“When the President romanticizes it as teenagers dancing in the background of sirens, that"s certainly not the attitude the President should have toward Parliament.

As the Speaker of the Parliament, I am obliged to emphasize this. Regardless of the emotional attitude of this or that person, including the President, towards this or that issue, respect for institutions is important, and when there is a violent damage to the Parliament and an attack on the police and an operation to restore order, a police measure, what the Georgian people expect from the President is to call everyone for peace and not, on the contrary, to encourage more disobedience towards police, which is eager to restore order, with some romanticism”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
