Prime Minister of Georgia meets Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Dr. Vladimir Orlic, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia today.

Growing interaction between Georgia and the Republic of Serbia was under the focus at the meeting. It was noted that economic ties need to further deepen between the two countries. Rising trend of trade was also deemed as being positive during the discussions.

A meeting held within the Government Administration also focused on the common aspiration of Georgia and Republic of Serbia towards a fully-fledged membership of the European Union (EU). It was highlighted as well that the two countries are effectively cooperating towards this end both in bilateral and regional formats.

Irakli Garibashvili thanked Vladimir Orlic for the unwavering support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia by the Republic of Serbia and confirmed the clear position of Georgia towards the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.

Meeting was attended by H.E. Tatjana Panajotović Cvetković, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to Georgia; Elvira Kovacs, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and Committee Chairperson for European Integration; Dubravka Filipovski, Head of Serbia-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group; Revaz Javelidze, Head of Government Administration from the Georgian side.
