I welcome the fact that this initiative was not supported by Parliament in Tbilisi, I call on the political leaders of Georgia to work together on urgently needed reforms - Stoltenberg

Georgian people have clearly stated that they want a democratic, successful Georgia that is integrated in the Euro-Atlantic region. Such a statement made today the NATO Secretary General.

“I welcome the decision of the Parliament of Georgia to drop and withdraw the draft law on foreign influence and agents because it does not correspond to Euro-Atlantic values and the protection of fundamental rights.

So, I welcome the recall of this initiative and the fact that it was not supported by the Parliament in Tbilisi. I call on the political leaders of Georgia to work together on urgently needed reforms and NATO, of course, is also working with the Georgian government on the implementation of these reforms, to strengthen democratic institutions, to strengthen democratic control over security services and to fight corruption.

The Georgian people have stated very clearly that they want a democratic, successful Georgia, which is integrated in the Euro-Atlantic region, and NATO will be a partner of such aspirations in the future”, - said Jens Stoltenberg.
