Government continuous talks with fuel importers and ensuring everything is done to further reduce domestic prices. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia in the country’s Parliament.
In his address to lawmakers, Irakli Garibashvili highlighted “effective negotiations” of the Government had led to reductions, with prices at non-branded petrol stations dropping below GEL 2.
He also pointed out a new draft bill was aimed at reducing food prices and regulate the relationship between importers and sellers, as well as between the retail chains.
“A further reduction in food prices - by an estimated 20-30% - would result from the adoption of the law.
Overall, the Government has concrete visions - whether in construction of houses for the internally displaced people or improved services - [and] it will show serious progress in all directions”, - said the Head of the Government.
