Paris restaurant set on fire as pension-reform protesters clash with police

A restaurant in Paris, France, caught on fire, as protesters clashed with police during continued nationwide pension-reform demonstrations.

Projectiles were reported outside the restaurant La Rotonde in the Montparnasse quarter of Paris, according to Actu.

Footage captured by Twitter users shows the awning of La Rotonde restaurant on fire as the camera pans to police lined up in riot gear. Footage also shows a man lying down with blood on his head.

The eight union federations are planning a further one-day strike action on Thursday, April 13th, union leaders confirmed. It will be the 12th official day of joint union action against President Emmanuel Macron’s pension reform that awaits to be given the green light by the country’s Constitutional Council.
