The Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Danijela Đurović.

At the meeting, the friendly ties between Georgia and Montenegro were stressed, which are solidly based on the common EU integration aspirations. The parties expressed their commitment to intensifying parliamentary links, including via the Committees and noted that both countries will definitely benefit from the sharing of the experience at the EU integration path.

As Speaker Papuashvili highlighted, Georgia proves to be successful in complying with the EU recommendations and underlined that hopefully, Georgia will receive the EU candidacy.

Mme. Đurović introduced information on the challenges and achievements of Montenegro at the EU integration path and pledged her commitment to sharing the experience of her country with Georgia. She emphasized the fact that Montenegro intends to keep supporting the NATO integration of Georgia.

The meeting was held within the framework of the Conference of Speakers of the European Union Parliaments in the Czech Republic.
