Special Investigation Service held the Coordination Meeting with representatives of International Donor Organizations

Koka Katsitadze, the Head of the Special Investigation Service and Vladimir Shkolnikov, OHCHR Senior Human Rights Adviser for the South Caucasus addressed the audience with their welcome speech.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current and future projects toward strengthening the Special Investigation Service and ensuring maximum coordination of International Organizations.

It was outlined that this coordination platform will serve the Service with the opportunity to plan and actively implement projects tailored to the Service needs with the involvement of donor organizations.

The Head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze thanked the representatives of international organizations for their expressed trust and support, which was very important to ensure the Service needs within the extended mandate.

Koka Katsitadze presented the brief Annual Report 2022 to the participants of the meeting. In his speech, he stressed the important organizational and structural reforms that have been implemented with the support of international organizations since the establishment of the Service.

Herewith, during the meeting, the Deputy Head of the Special Investigation Service, Natia Songhulashvili, presented the priorities and the detailed identified needs of the Service which will give the opportunity to the donor organizations fruitfully plan future projects and cooperation.

The Service plans to conduct future donor coordination meetings which will prioritize partner donor organization efforts and resources for the Service development.

The First Deputy Head of the Special Investigation Service - Giorgi Kvaratskhelia, representatives of the Service, Diplomatic Corps accredited in Georgia, International Organizations and projects attended the meeting.

The Donor Coordination Meeting was funded through the support of the European Union (EU) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
