The National Tourism Administration published information about the revenues of the months of January-March.

The data of the first quarter of 2023 shows that the revenues from international travel (tourism) increased by 102% compared to the same period of 2022 and reached 795 million USD.

“Georgia’s revenue from tourism exceeded USD 795 million in the first quarter of 2023, marking a 102 percent increase year-on-year and a 37.5 percent increase compared to the same period of pre-pandemic 2019.

Tourism revenues in the first quarter of 2023 increased by 64.7% from the EU, 136.1% - from Turkey, 73.2% - from Israel, etc. In the 1st quarter of 2023, Georgia received the biggest income from tourism from several countries, including the European Union, Turkey, Israel and Armenia”, - reads the information.

In other figures, the number of arrivals of international travelers in Georgia equaled 1,208,462 in the first quarter of 2023, marking a 109.6 percent increase year-on-year.

In the reporting period, 845,332 tourist-type visits were made in Georgia, which is 83.8 percent more compared to the same quarter of 2022.
