“Regarding the violent and illegal actions carried out by the occupation regime against Kristine Takalandze, the international community has repeatedly expressed a consolidated position and condemned the criminal practice that is deliberately established in the occupied territories of Georgia.

From the very first day of Kristine Takalandze’s illegal imprisonment, the central government has been using all available mechanisms. Also, the mentioned issue is an important component of the agenda of our international partners.

Responsibility for all destructive actions carried out in the occupied regions of Georgia and along the occupation line rests with the occupying power”, - reads the statement of the SSSG.

The “Supreme Court” of occupied Abkhazia has sentenced Kristine Takalandze, a Georgian citizen from the village of Nabakevi, who was arrested on charges of spying, to 10 years and 6 months in prison.
