The parliamentary majority offers the opposition to present candidates acceptable to them for the membership of the Supreme Council of Justice. The relevant statement made the Executive Secretary of Georgian Dream, Mamuka Mdinaradze.
“We discussed current political issues, including the issue of electing members of the Supreme Council of Justice, which is one of the points of the European recommendations. In this regard, we believe that out of the presented candidates, about 15 candidates meet the criteria of both competence and integrity, which was clearly demonstrated during the interview held in the Parliament.
We will not limit the representatives of opposition. We suggest each political entity in the opposition to present the candidates acceptable to them with a brief justification within the next day. This will allow us to determine whether there is a practical chance of reaching consensus on this issue. If there is a positive result, then we will make sure that the voting takes place even faster. We will take care of it in all cases. It would be better if our positions coincided to some extent”, - said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
