Parliament elected 3 non-judge members of the Supreme Council of Justice - part of opposition supported the candidate of ruling team

Out of the candidates for non-judge membership of the Supreme Council of Justice, 3 non-judge members were elected by qualified majority - Tristan Benashvili, Giorgi Gzobava and Zurab Guraspashvili.

The voting was secret, and the votes in their favor were recorded as follows: 93-91-93.

The voting process is currently suspended because the opposition left the plenary session hall as a sign of protest.

For almost 2 years, the seats of 5 non-judge members in the Supreme Council of Justice have been vacant. The election of non-judge members requires the votes of 90 MPs, which means that the majority and the opposition had to agree on candidates with common support. The Georgian Dream has a total of 84 votes.
