The “fruitful cooperation” between Georgia and Spain in both bilateral and multilateral formats was discussed by Georgian Foreign Minister and his Spanish counterpart.
The meeting touched on Georgia’s progress on the European Union integration path, including the implementation of the 12 recommendations set by Union for granting the country membership candidate status. The importance of obtaining membership status for Georgia, as well as the role of Spain as the future President country of the Council of the EU, was also emphasized by the sides, the Georgian Government Administration said.
Ilia Darchiashvili thanked José Manuel Albares for his “strong support” for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, as well as for the country’s European aspirations.
