Revenue Service is hosting the session of the 27th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations

The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia is hosting the 27th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) and the technological exhibition within its framework.

On June 27, the administrative session of the General Assembly was opened and the head of the Revenue Service, Levan Kakava, addressed the participants with a welcome speech. The head of the Revenue Service emphasized the importance of the administrative session of the General Assembly in order to ensure the sustainable development of IOTA.

Kakava also noted that in his capacity as the President, he welcomes the holding of the 27th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations in Tbilisi, Georgia and wishes the participants to reach the consensus and unanimity when making decisions on important issues for the organization.

Also, on June 27, within the framework of the administrative session of IOTA, the head of the Revenue Service, Levan Kakava, symbolically handed over the flag of the organization to the next president of IOTA, the head of the tax and customs administration of Hungary, Ferenc Vágujhelyi. “Mr. Ferenc, congratulations on your presidency, it is a great honor for me to hand over the flag of the intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations to you, which is a very important and responsible relay”, - said the head of the Revenue Service.

Hungary has been named as the next IOTA President for the term of one year (2023/2024).

IOTA is an intra-European organization of tax administrations, which was founded in 1996 and unites tax administrations of 42 countries in the European region. General Assembly is held once a year and it is hosted by the tax administrations of the president country of the organization.
