“We have a subjective, very biased interest to get candidate status. We subjectively want to get the candidate status, because, to put it simply, getting the candidate status will strengthen Georgian Dream a lot, it will also affect our rating, etc.

As for the opposition, look at their rhetoric, the rhetoric of their media. They constantly talk about the fact that Georgia doesn’t deserve the status. We have a subjective reason to get the candidate status, we will strengthen even more by getting the status. The opposition is afraid of the candidate status like a plague, because we will become stronger. We have a reason to receive it, and for exactly the same reason, the opposition does not want us to receive the status.

The competition that exists between [Levan] Khabeishvili, [Nino] Lomjaria and others is an intra-party competition within the United National Movement, we don’t interfere in this, why should we interfere, the more internal conflicts there are, the better for us, we will not interfere in their internal affairs, on the contrary, I think internal conflicts are very good and we should give them as much freedom as possible.
