The President of Georgia has been holding meetings with opposition figures at the Orbeliani Palace. So far she has met with the representatives of “Lelo”, “Euro-optimists”, “For Georgia” party, “Citizens”. Today, Salome Zourabichvili held a meeting with the former Head of the United National Movement, Nika Melia.

“To be honest, we talked about all the issues that may concern every patriotic citizen of this country. As for the impeachment hearing that will be held in October, I personally believe that any intention of the Government to deprive the country of the chance to leave the post-Soviet space is doomed.

I have the impression that Mrs. Zourabichvili doesn’t think much about who will support her impeachment and who won’t. Who will be bribed and who will not…

The Georgian Dream believes that these meetings are held so that Zourabichvili’s impeachment will not happen because of the luck of sufficient amount of votes, but we spent the least amount of time talking about this issue. She is absolutely calm about this matter.

Personally, I think that if this [impeachment] happens, it will have the opposite result and Bidzina Ivanishvili’s government will not be able to convince the West to leave the Georgian people alone”, - said Nika Melia after the meeting.
