The Tbilisi TV tower was illuminated in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the City Assembly revealing the symbolic move.

According to the Assembly, a campaign with the involvement of the Tbilisi-based National Screening Centre would be joining events planned across the world throughout October to highlight the cause. The NGO Europa Donna Georgia is also involved in the event alongside the healthcare institution.

Pink October has been marked since 1997 worldwide to raise awareness of the disease.
