Following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Service (SIS), a patrol inspector of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been revealed in physical group violence committed against a citizen.

The investigation revealed that on September 28, 2023, the law enforcement officer, accompanied by another individual, was physically abusing a citizen at a gas station in Akhaltsikhe. During this altercation, the officer caused minor injuries to the citizen"s health.

Based on the evidence obtained by the SIS, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia charged the patrol police officer with the Intentional infliction of minor harm to health as part of a group of persons by Article 120, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

The Offence shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years. The SIS continues the investigation of this case.
