The agenda of the Parliament and “current events” in Georgia were discussed in a meeting between the Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili and Robin Dunnigan, the newly appointed US Ambassador to the country.
The sides discussed Dunnigan’s plans, possibilities of activating parliamentary relations between the two countries, as well as “ongoing processes” in the wider region.
As Ambassador stressed, the US Government’s mission would be to further strengthen relations with Georgia “in all directions”, and noted she was ready to “actively work” with the country’s legislative body.
The Speaker expressed desire to “closely cooperate” with the diplomatic office on deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
