Georgian Dream is looking to gain constitutional majority in parliamentary race - Mdinaradze

The Georgian Dream would look to gain a constitutional majority and not just a “simple victory” in the general elections in October, 2024. Such a statement made today Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling party.

In his press comments following the Georgian Dream Congress that nominated Irakli Garibashvili as the party Chairman, Mdinaradze alleged the “relatively vacant” opposition field posed “no obstacles” for the current ruling power.

“I am sure that the combined expertise, leadership, and patriotism of [Irakli] Garibashvili and [Irakli] Kobakhidze would fortify both the party and the Government, fostering unity and effectiveness to ensure further economic growth, de-occupation of the country’s territories, alleviation of poverty and work for European integration”, - added MP.

It should be mentioned that the Georgian Dream would need to win at least 113 seats in the 150-member Parliament to win the constitutional majority.
