Georgian Foreign Minister attended the Munich Security Conference [MSC] on February 17 and 18. Ilia Darchiashvili held a number of meetings.
In particular, he met with the OSCE Chairman Ian Borg; Albanian Foreign Minister Igli Hasani; the President and CEO of the National Endowment for Democracy Damon Wilson; the U.S. European Commander/SACEUR Christopher G. Cavoli; the French Minister for European and Foreign Affairs, Stéphane Séjourné; the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, James O’Brien; the State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Sussanne Baumann; the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Scott Nathan.
The Minister highlighted Georgia’s focus on European integration during discussions at the MSC.
“We are actively engaging with our partners to ensure that Georgia has robust support. A notable discussion took place with the recently appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, who pledged support for our country, with our German partners, emphasizing the importance of consistent backing from influential European Union members such as France and Germany.
Our participation in the Munich conference has yielded positive outcomes, mobilizing our friends and partners around critical issues that are of utmost priority for Georgia. These issues remain our number one, primary focus”, - said Ilia Darchiashvili.
