The [Georgian] Dream, which deceives us every day, as if it has a 60% rating, in fact does not even hope for even 35%, the adoption of this law means this - the Dream lost in lies says one thing and does another. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the parliamentary political group For Georgia, Beka Liluashvili, while talking about the new amendments to the Election Code.
“The Dream has submitted amendments related to the municipal elections, with which it wants to cancel the need for at least 40% support to be elected as a majoritian MP in the Sakrebulo. The Dream, which deceives us every day, as if it has a 60% rating, in fact does not even hope for even 35%, the adoption of this law means this - the Dream lost in lies says one thing and does another.
In these steps too, the Dream resembled the [United] National Movement. Right before the self-government elections, in 2010, Mikheil Saakashvili canceled the need for at least 30% support to be elected as a majoritian MP in the Sakrebulo. Today, the Dream driven by hysterical fears of losing power is doing the same as the UNM did in the past.
We remind the public that this is not the first time that the current Government proves its weakness. We call on the Government: to address people’s problems and not their own problems by cutting and sewing laws, and to start preparing constitutional amendments to directly elect the president”, - said Beka Liluashvili.
