Parliamentary Trust Group heard the annual report of the Special State Protection Service

The Trust Group heard the annual report of the Special State Protection Service [SSPS], comprising the directions of the activity for 2023, such as ensuring the security of the persons and facilities under protection, safeguarding the high-rank officials visiting Georgia, as well as the activities in view of the technological and institutional capacity, as well as the improvement of the material-technical base of the organization.

MPs got cognizant of the steps taken in the international cooperation sphere and the plans of the SSPS.

“The SSPS is a body prominent with high efficiency. It is capable of undertaking a full range of protection/security remedies and provides personal guarding, escorting, special purpose, operative, operative-technical, and training and qualification advantages. We, the MPs, strive to ensure effective oversight of the SSPS and take due steps to provide the legislative and financial support to the hereof body for its high productivity”, - said the Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee/Trust Group, Irakli Beraia stated.
