The United Nations Human Rights Council “urges the authorities of Georgia to withdraw the draft law labelling civil society”.
“Georgia: We urge the authorities to withdraw the draft law labelling civil society and media that receive over 20% of their funding from abroad as “organisations acting in the interest of a foreign power”. This poses serious threats to freedoms of expression and association”, - writes the UN Human Rights Council on the social network X.
The draft law “On transparency of foreign influence” was re-introduced in the Parliament on April 3.
