We will consider recommendation that is fair, and we will not consider what is not fair and useful for the country - Davituliani

We will consider recommendation that is fair, and we will not consider what is not fair and useful for the country. Such a statement made today Beka Davituliani, MP from the Georgian Dream.

“Everyone should know that this law only refers to not allowing certain scenes in TV broadcasts and setting an age limit of 18+ in cinemas. It also refers to disallowing similar scenes in children’s literature. The Venice Commission has a bad attitude. It is a sensitive issue.

They tell us to remove the Constitution’s passage on a marriage that is a union of a man and a woman instead of imposing restrictions, saying restrictions should not work in the country. We and the Georgian population do not think like that”, - said Beka Davituliani.

The Venice Commission published its Opinion on the draft constitutional law on Protecting Family Values and Minors. The Commission recommends the Georgian Government modify the draft constitutional law in a way that allows for the legal recognition of same-sex couples.
