Givi Mikanadze, head of the permanent delegation of Georgia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, took part in the debate on the implementation of the sanctions against Russia.

During his speech, Givi Mikanadze informed the delegates of 45 countries about the preventive measures that Georgia has implemented at the legislative and practical level to prevent circumvention of the sanctions imposed on Russia by Western countries.

He also spoke about the visit of 3 high-ranking representatives of the US, the European Union and the United Kingdom to Georgia and their positive conclusions regarding the measures taken by the Government.

Also, he provided information to the European MPs about the activities carried out in this direction by the Customs Service of the Ministry of Finance.

The said debate was held within the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which is held on July 24-28 in Strasbourg.
