Pursuant to the Constitution of Georgia, today, I am signing the Draft Law on the Funded Pension. Such a statement made today the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

“We, within the Spring Session, adopted the legal package on the amendments to the Law on Funded Pension. On this occasion, Mme. Salome Zourabichvili submitted a letter to the Parliament stating that she neither signed the Law nor returned it with justified comments, meaning that no veto was imposed on it. Taking into incorporation the facts that we witnessed about the preceding vetoes enclosed with the argument – “because”, seems, the Parliamentary Secretary of the President abstained from appearing in the Parliament equipped with the argument “because” this time and thus, she did not sign the Law. Hence, pursuant to the Constitution of Georgia, today, I am signing the Draft Law on the Funded Pension”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.

The Law becomes effective upon promulgation.
